Auction Watch: Grey Flannel, December 2014
Grey Flannel Auctions recently press released a preview of their December 2014, "Holiday Auction." Online previews and bidding will be available on their website beginning November 21, 2014 - and will run through the scheduled December 17th end date. Physical catalogues will be mailed later this month.
Highlighted items in the release included a few personal items from, "The Julius Erving Collection." Among those mentioned were a photo-matched Sixers uniform, a commemorative basketball marking Dr. J's 20,000th career point and his 1978 All-Star Game ring - which was previously sold at auction in 2011 for $238,853! Also, shown but not described is a Mike Schmidt, 1979 "Saturday Night Special"-style jersey. I'll be interested to see whether it is his gamer, or a signed replica.
