Auction Watch: Wheatland Auction Services, December 2014

Bidding for lots included in Wheatland Auction Services December Sports Card and Memorabilia auction ends this coming Sunday, December 7th.  The online event features 779 total lots - with a heavy focus on vintage cards and autographed memorabilia.  As we near the final gavel, here are a few lots to watch:

Signed, Phillies "Diamond Greats" Cards - Lot #279

As a vintage autograph collector, this lot jumped out at me while browsing this month's catalogue.  It includes 20 signed "Diamond Greats" and "Grand Slam" cards from the late-1970s featuring Phillies from the 1940s - 1960s.  With current high bids at $25, the black and white cards break down to just over $1/card.  You could easily expect to get $5-10 apiece on the secondary market for this selection of players.

Allen Iverson Autographed Jersey - Lot # 170

Up for bid in this lot is a jersey signed by 76ers legend Allen Iverson.  He remains extremely popular with collectors and jerseys of this type with JSA authentication can expect to sell in the $150-200 range.  The Reebok jersey has been signed in silver on the #3, and at a current bid of $90, it is perfect for a Sixers fan who is looking to upgrade their man cave. 1952 All-Star Game Ticket Stub

The Phillies hosted the All-Star Game at Connie Mack Stadium in 1952, and memorabilia from the game is much sought after.  The ticket offered here is incomplete - having been torn at the gate.  However, due to fairly high-demand for stubs of this era, especially "big games" such as the Mid-Summer Classic, even partial tickets can still command a good price.  See the lot.
